Are You OK?

The “Are You Okay?” program is a computerized telephone calling system that provides daily contact with senior adults, disabled persons, and shut-ins that live alone. The system calls each enrolled subscriber everyday of the year at the same time each day at a pre-arranged time.  When the subscriber answers the phone, the “Are You OK?” system delivers a pre-recorded message instructing them to hang up the phone if they are okay or dial 911 if they need emergency assistance. If the subscriber doesn’t answer after a preset number of attempts, an alert is sent to the sheriff’s office. If contact can not be made with the person, an officer will be dispatched to their residence. For more information, visit the “Are You OK?” website by clicking.
