2500 BINDLES OF HEROIN CONFISCATED

On Friday, July 13, 2018, deputies with the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle on Interstate 40 for traffic violations. The vehicle was being driven by Taurean Gordon from Newark, NJ and James Lofton from Wilmington, NC was the passenger in the vehicle.  A K9 scan of the vehicle was conducted.  A search of the vehicle recovered 2,500 bindles of Heroin in the vehicle.

Taurean Gordon was charged with Trafficking in Heroin by Transport, Trafficking in Heroin by Possession, Conspire to Traffic in Heroin, Manufacturing Heroin, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Taurean Gordon received a $400,000.00 secured bond from the magistrate.

James Lofton was charged with Trafficking in Heroin by Transport, Trafficking in Heroin by Possession, Conspire to Traffic in Heroin, Manufacturing Heroin, Maintain a Place to Keep Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. James Lofton received a $400,000.00 secured bond from the magistrate.

Estimated street value of the heroin is $17,500.00
